​Our Lady of the Rosary Parish Kensington provides Catholic Special Religious Education (SRE) for children not attending OLR Primary School, in preparation for the Sacraments throughout the year.  The Sacrament of Confirmation is being offered for baptised Catholic children who have made their First Reconciliation and received their First Eucharist, and are in Year 6 or above. They will be guided and supported through their preparation by our catechists and priest. Following are the 2026 details:

Parent Information Meeting:  29 April at 6.30pm in OLR Church Kensington 

​

Commitment Mass:  3 May at 9.30am.

For all enrolled candidates and their families during which candidates will be presented to Fr. Peter Hearn MSC and the Congregation at OLR Church

Preparation Sessions: 3.45pm-5.15pm 

21 March, 28 March, 2 May, 16 May, 23 May, 30 May in OLR Church Foyer

Confirmation Ceremony: Wednesday 3 June 6.30pm in OLR Church 

​

Retreat: 29 May 9am-2.45pm at OLR Parish Primary School

Registration: Contact the Parish at olrkensonevangelise@gmail.com  to have an enrolment form emailed to you. Please attach a copy of your child’s Baptism, Reconciliation and First Eucharist certificate with the completed enrolment form. The closing date for enrolments is 19 March. You will then be contacted to confirm that your enrolment has been approved. If you require any further information, please contact the Parish Office weekdays on PH: 9663 1070 between 9.30am – 3.00pm.

Safeguarding standards require that your child be accompanied by a parent to attend each of the preparation sessions and the Commitment Mass.  As part of the preparation, the candidates are expected to be attending weekly Sunday Masses. Attendance at weekly Sunday Mass is a teaching of the Catholic church.
